The theme for April should appeal to everyone who knows the joys of
traveling: Or new theme is "Wanderlust".
Middle Earth is a big place - it certainly has more to offer than just
Rivendell and Mirkwood (to name only the homes of our two heroes). So
for the April challenge we would like to see travels to distant lands,
clashes with foreign cultures, exciting adventures in Rhûn or Harad,
or even experiences of the tourist-y kind while visiting an unknown
country!
We all know Aragorn traveled a lot in his younger years. So how about
depicting one of his journeys? Maybe a story about the first time he
saw Minas Tirith or what he really experienced when he journeyed through
the Mines of Moria for the first time? Or you could send Legolas on
a diplomatic mission to Laketown. Or have Aragorn abduct Legolas and
show him the joys of human pub culture! Or you could even show Sam's
reaction to seeing Rivendell and all the assorted elves there.
The possibilites are endless! Show us what life in Harad is like, what
people drink in Laketown, what terrible faux-pas Legolas commited during
his first stay in the White City... You could depict the journey there
- and back again -, or show how our heroes interact with strange cultures
(or strange people). Be creative! This is your chance to develop original
cultures or characters!
