For May, the theme is If I could turn back Time. Forgive us the bad Cher-reference, but we couldn't pass this one up:)

What would happen if a character could turn back time, relive a moment and change the past? It would be a chance to wrong past mistakes, or spare loved ones pain: Who would not jump at the chance? However, would the outcome always be better or do things really happen for a reason? If Elrond could turn back time, would he actually push Isildur into the Crack of Doom, ring and all? How would that affect the future? Aragorn's future, in particular? Or imagine Legolas taking a deadly arrow that was meant for a friend? What would the outcome be?

On first glance, this seems to be a very angsty theme, but it could just as well be humorous. Remember "Groundhog Day"? What would happen if Aragorn could relive a day over and over again and anticipate everyone's moves? Chaos would ensue, naturally!

This is a wonderful opportunity to play "What if...?" games and twist canon around a bit. Just remember to stick to the rules of the Challenge, other that that: Anything goes!

This month's theme was suggested by Celebdil-Galad and Christa (unrelated to each other) in similar form. Thanks for that!
