For June, our theme is simply this: Friendship.
If you haven't learned the meaning of friendship, you really haven't
learned anything. (Muhammed Ali)
There is nothing on this earth more to be prized than true friendship.
(Thomas Aquinus)
I have friends in overalls whose friendship I would not swap for
the favor of the kings of the world. (Thomas Edison)
It takes a long time to grow an old friend. (John Leonard)
What makes a friend a friend? What forms a bond so deep that you would
trust your life and soul into anotherīs hands? And what consequences
does such a friendship bring? And what can endanger, or even destroy
such a friendship? We all know and love the treasure of wonderful friendships
in Tolkienīs work, and we invite you to share your ideas with us.
The usual rules apply, including the Aragorn and/or Legolas rule. You
may write about their friendship, of course, but there are so many other
possibilities... Legolas and Gimli, Aragorn and Gandalf, Legolas and
the twins, Aragorn and Halbarad... Itīs your choice! Make it funny,
suspenseful, touching - letīs celebrate the miracle called friendship!
