One Title: Your Story

A Fairy Tale, Middle-Earth style

Games People Play

Friends in Small Places

Here is the theme for the May challenge. Actually, it is something a little different since it does not first and foremost concern the content of the story.

For May, the theme is On Location. This time, we want you to write a story that takes place in a single location. No traveling from Mirkwood to Rivendell, no crossing the Misty Mountains, no striding Strider. For this month, we want you to stay put.

How about a certain elf and ranger being stuck in a cell (they're quite used to it). How about King Elessar spending a day in the citadel? How about a house, a clearing, a stable, a tent, a garden for a location? You could also draw inspiration from the good old Agatha Christie novels where a bunch of characters would be stuck in a gloomy castle trying to solve a murder mystery.

It's your choice! Apart from our usual rules you can pick any plot you like - as long as it is set in one location. Try to stay small - where would be the challenge in setting a whole story in Gondor? But setting a whole story in King Elessar's throne room - that's what we like for this challenge!

And here are the winners:

A Good Day for a Story by LegolasLover2003
Alone in the Dark by Imaginigma
An Evening with Friends by Nautika
Boiling Point by Sivan
Listen with your Heart by StarLight
Môrtele by Nieriel Raina 1rst place
Room with a View by Beth 2nd place
The Isla Ford by Pentangle 3rd place

This theme has been suggested by Ria, many thanks for that!
