Here is the theme for the May challenge. Actually, it is something
a little different since it does not first and foremost concern the
content of the story.
For May, the theme is On Location. This time, we want you to
write a story that takes place in a single location. No traveling from
Mirkwood to Rivendell, no crossing the Misty Mountains, no striding
Strider. For this month, we want you to stay put.
How about a certain elf and ranger being stuck in a cell (they're quite
used to it). How about King Elessar spending a day in the citadel? How
about a house, a clearing, a stable, a tent, a garden for a location?
You could also draw inspiration from the good old Agatha Christie novels
where a bunch of characters would be stuck in a gloomy castle trying
to solve a murder mystery.
It's your choice! Apart from our usual rules you can pick any plot
you like - as long as it is set in one location. Try to stay small -
where would be the challenge in setting a whole story in Gondor? But
setting a whole story in King Elessar's throne room - that's what we
like for this challenge!
