One Title: Your Story

A Fairy Tale, Middle-Earth style

Games People Play

Friends in Small Places

Summer is almost upon us, but instead of choosing something cheerful for the June challenge, the theme for this month will be Dark Places.

Middle Earth can be a beautiful place: stunning landscapes, deep forests and roaring waters. But of course there is darkness as well: Take Saruman's tower, which is truly horrendous and uninviting. Or take the proverbial cave into which Legolas does not want to enter. What about attics and basements and spider-infested forests which shall remain unnamed here? What if someone got lost there or did, by chance, found himself in such an unwelcoming surroundings? What would he do? How would he react? And when is the right moment to simply panic?

Of course it is also possible to tackle this theme from a metaphorical standpoint. What about the dark places in one's soul? How can you fight them before they swallow you? How can you accept them?

Here are the winners:

And It Was Light Again by StarLight 2nd place
Awaken Unto Light by Vicki Turner
Between a Rock and a Hard Place by Evergreene 3rd place
Dark Vales of Friendship by Aranel
Darkest Before Dawn by Nieriel Raina
In the Dark by Aeärwen
It by White Wolf
Shadows of Memory by Lindahoyland 1rst place
The Final Sense by Nautika
Uncovered Night by The Lady of Light
