One Title: Your Story

A Fairy Tale, Middle-Earth style

Games People Play

Friends in Small Places

A while back, the theme for Teitho was On Location, challenging authors to write a story that takes place in one single location. During the upcoming month though, we will not focus on the setting but on the timeframe of the story. The theme for July is Twenty-Four.

You probably all know the tv show 24 where Special Agent Jack Bauer saves his own neck, the USA and the world in general in real time. Every season has 24 episodes, which in the end translate into one full day in Jack Bauer's life.

The July Challenge will focus on this timeframe. We want you to write a story that covers 24 hours in some way. Aragorn and Legolas do not necessarily have to save their necks, their countries or the world in general during that time (they are doing that on a daily basis anyway, so there is no reason to make that a challenge *g*), but we challenge you to write a story in which twenty-four hours in the life of a character play a significant role.

Write the last twenty-four hours Legolas spends in Middle Earth before sailing to the Undying Lands with Gimli. Write the first twenty-four hours Arwen and Aragorn spend with their firstborn son. Write twenty-four hours of a battle. Write an account of twenty-four hours spent in a rangers' camp. Write anything you like - as long as you can fit it into twenty-four hours!

Here are the stories for this challenge:

Dies Irae by Linda Hoyland 1rst place
Do Not Go Quietly Into The Night by openmeadow
First Lessons by CSIJaina 3rd place
No Trouble At All by StarLight 2nd place
